Nuance DAX Copilot (Dragon Ambient eXperience) uses ambient AI to listen to patient-physician conversations and automatically generate clinical documentation. The doctor focuses on the patient while the AI captures the interaction and produces structured notes. The system runs on a mobile device or computer in the exam room, listening to the natural conversation. After the visit, it generates a clinical note in the appropriate format (SOAP, HPI, etc.) with chief complaint, history of present illness, exam findings, assessment, and plan. The physician reviews and approves before signing. DAX Copilot addresses physician burnout by reducing documentation time from 15+ minutes to under 2 minutes per patient.
